About this equipment

Completely Overhaul 1964 - 1966 ;: coal fired steamengine replaced by a fuel fierd one, dredging depth increased to 16 m and pontoon widened by 1.60m

TD 6 was  doomed to be scrapped in 1987. The “TD6 safeguard association", chaired by the current Director of the Maritime Museum, Patrick Schnepp, decided to save the Steam Dredger from the scrapyard. The museum aquired the dredger in 1990, and extensive preservation works were carried ou in 2008.

In 1992 the dredger was classified as a 'Monument Historique".
