Original built in 1949 as general cargo vessel WIMBOURNE. in 1970 converted to TSHD and renamed SAND GEM

Her name was changed to Black Gem in 1981 as she was intended to dredge coal from the seabed near Durham, but the licences never materialised.

In 1990 scrapped by T.C. Fraser (metals) Ltd.) in Padstow
