Arentz & Rosenfeldt's shipyard in Kalkbrænderihavnen was transformed in 1897 into Copenhagen's Flydedok & Shipyard at Krøyers Plads in Christianshavn, which was expanded with part of Wilders Plads (Nordre Vaerft) and in 1917 Frederiksholms Tiglværker in Sydhavnen (Søndre Værft). In 1927, the yards were taken over by B & W, who immediately closed Søndre Værft and in 1933 closed Nordre Værft. [1]
In 1923 Copenhagen's Flydedok bought the remains of Køge Værft, which had lost large sums on the shipyard. The floating dock managed to build or equip 194 ships, before in 1927 it had to let all assets be taken over by B&W (Burmeister & Wain), who stopped construction at Søndre Værft, but initially continued at the Strandgade section. The name Kjøbenhavns Flydedok og Shipyard was preserved in a new company founded in 1928, but it never produced anything and disappeared shortly after 1934.
