About

Founded in 1855 by C. Vering, it developped one of the largest civil engineering companies in the German Empire of those days. In 1885 they joined forces with Carl Waechter, and formed Vering & Waechter, focussing on construction and operating railways.

After the occupation by the Germans of Jioazhou Bay (China) in 1897, Vering became involved in the development of the port, and brought their dredger Hephaesto to the projectorganisation of the Tsingtau Harbour Works in 1901
