The Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL) is responsible for the maintenance of 90km of navigational shipping channel, stretching from the northern tip of Bribie Island, across Moreton Bay, and into the Brisbane River. We need to ensure safe, deep-water access to the port is maintained. We also carry out maintenance dredging between Fisherman Islands and the Hamilton Reach of the Brisbane River to enable safe passage of vessels visiting berths upstream. We own a fleet of vessels to manage a wide range of dredging situations. The flagship of our dredging fleet is the Brisbane, which is the largest dredger of its type based in Australia.
