Backhoe dredger "BOULDER" Newly built in 2010, modified for excavator in 2011 Hull: 50.4 m x 12.0 m x 2.5 m Excavator : Hitachi EX 1200/6 weight class 120 ton Boom: 11.5 m Arms: 7.0 m and 5.3 m Buckets: 5.5 m3 and 5.2 m3 Max dredge dept 17 m Class: Certified by Finnish Transport Agency (TRAFI) for tow in international waters June 2011 – Hitachi EX 1200 excavator is mounted on pontoon “Boulder” In June 2011 Wasa Dredging completed the modification of the drilling pontoon “Boulder”. The pontoon was extended by an excavator foundation of 10 meters. On the foundation a special built 120 tons Hitachi EX 1200 excavator was mounted. “Boulder” is now used both for drilling and for dredging, thus reducing the economics of mobilization. Maximum dredge level is -17 meter, using is bucket of 4 m3, whereas dredging using an 6 m3 bucket can reach up to -14 meter.
