Presumably the same company as T. Wingate and Co

Wingate were steam engine manufacturers who made an engine for the pioneer transatlantic steamship Sirius built by Menzies and Co in 1838

Thomas Wingate's first shipbuilding yard was on the south side of the Clyde, near to that of Tod and McGregor.

1840s Extensive widenings of the harbour caused the removal of both Tod and McGregor's shipyard, and the adjoining premises of Thomas Wingate.

1853 The Rotary was built by Henderson, Coulborn and Co, Renfrew, with a rotary engine, the second example of Napier's patent design, which had been made for him by Thomas Wingate and Co.

1866 Launched paddle steamer 'Palmerston' for the Thames [1]

1870s Wingates failed.
