John Cockerill opened his Shipyard in 1824 in Antwerp, later moved the Yard to Hoboken.

1982: After the bancrupcy of Cockerill Yards, Boelwerf took over the Yard.

1992: Boelwerf went into bankcuptcy.

The Flemish state-owned company Gimvindus took controll over the Yard (under the name Boelwerf Vlaanderen) to finish to last orders. After completing these orders to company ceased activities on the 30th of November, 1994
