Opgericht door de Gebroeders Peters in 1901 te Rotterdam en in 1912 verhuis naar Arnhem. Samenwerking met J.J. van Rietschoten uit Rotterdam.

In 1902 nam de Grintmij het Deutsch Rheinisches Kiesgeschaft over en kreeg hierdoor de beschikking over de molen Columbus (niet die van 1912) en de elevator Wilhelmshafen.
