  Disposal Detail 1906 sold to Geelong Harbour Board and disappeared on delivery from Port Natal to Geelong. by an Archie G Simms of Durban dated 14 Nov 1906 from Durban contains the following: "You may perhaps heard about the dredges Walrus and Octopus which were purchased by the Geelong Harbour Board. The Walrus left here several months ago & has not yet been heard of now being months overdue at your end, all hope of her ever reaching you being given up."
