De nieuwe sleephopperzuiger zal de naam “Breughel” dragen. Met een beuninhoud van 11.650 m3 en een maximaal laadvermogen van ruim 18.500 ton past dit nieuwe schip geheel in het segment van de respectievelijk in 2007 en 2008 in de vaart genomen sleepzuigers “Brabo” en “Breydel”. Het schip zal een 1200 mm sleeppijp aan bakboordzijde hebben en zal kunnen baggeren tot op dieptes van 43 m.
The new trailing suction hopper dredger will be named Breughel, with a hopper capacity of 11,650m3; an extremely powerful, self-propelled rock cutter dredger with a total installed output of 28,000kW; and a patented high-tech, flexible fall-pipe system that will enable accurate stone dumping at depths of up to 2,000m. . "The new ship fits perfectly into DEME’s trailing suction hopper dredger segment which incorporates the Brabo and Breydel, added to the fleet in 2007 and 2008 respectively," DEME said in a statement. "The ship will have a port side 1,200mm suction pipe and will be able to dredge at depths of up to 43 m. Breughel is designed for dredging in both deep and shallow waters, enabling the ship to offer extensive flexibility.
